ENFORCEMENT OF ALL RULES AND REGULATIONS.

Thank you for being a valued member of Fairlawn Swim and Tennis.  We hope that these general rules and guidelines provide you and your family with an understanding of our expectations as members of the Club.  These rules are intended to be followed not only by you, but your guests as well.

Of course, there may be situations or circumstances that are not defined here.  Should that occur, the Club Manager has the authority to resolve the situation.  Our goal as a Club is to be fair and to treat all members with dignity and respect, but ultimately, the Board has a responsibility to insure the proper enjoyment and safety of all members and their guests and these rules reflect that:

FACILITY RULES

  1. All members (and their guests) are asked to check in at the gate – or guard shack when applicable – upon arrival.
  2. Grounds are limited to members in good standing and their paid guests. At no time are non-members allowed to use the facility while not in the company of an active member.
  3. Unauthorized guests will be asked to leave, immediately.
  4. Guests are welcome at the Club when accompanied by a member.  Guest fees are $7 (Guest fees on Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day are $10).
  5. Out of town guests are free of charge. Out of Town guests are defined as guests residing outside of the surrounding counties of Summit County.
  6. All children under the age of 12 years must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, or caregiver, at all times. Children under 16 years of age are not permitted on the grounds after 5:00 PM, unless a parent or guardian is present on the property.
  7. For staffing purposes, all member parties must be scheduled in advance.
  8. Picnic tables and grills are available for use on a first-come, first-serve basis – unless previously booked and reserved for a party.
  9. No personal speaker or sound devices are permitted in the shared picnic spaces.
  10. The use of bicycles, skateboards, scooters and rollerblades are prohibited on club grounds.
  11. The only permissible place to park a bicycle or scooter is in the bike rack area – located between the parking lot and the tennis courts.
  12. Parking cars in the grass area is prohibited, except for the grassy parking area adjacent to courts #4, 5, and 6.
  13. No pets are permitted anywhere on the property except for service animals.
  14. Fairlawn Swim and Tennis is a smoke-free facility; smoking of any kind, vaping and/or the use of e-cigarettes is prohibited at all times.
  15. No climbing or playing on any building or structure is permitted (except in the playground area).
  16. Please direct any concerns, comments, or suggestions to the Club Manager on duty.

LOCKER ROOMS

  1. All changing of swim suits must be done in the locker rooms/restrooms. There are no age exceptions to this rule. This applies to all members and their guests, newborns to adults.
  2. Persons using the lockers must bring their own locks and must be removed before leaving the Club grounds. Valuables should never be left in the lockers. 
  3. The Club accepts no responsibility for items left on the premises.
  4. The use of cell phones and recording devices in the locker rooms is strictly prohibited and may be grounds for disciplinary action.

POOL RULES

  1. The pool hours, weather permitting, will be published on the Club’s website.  Exceptions to these times will exist and include times dedicated to swim lessons, swim meets, splash parties, and any time that the pool is being treated with chemicals. The pools will close due to severe weather conditions, particularly rain and lightning.
  2. Lifeguard breaks occur the last ten (10) minutes of every hour.  Swimming during lifeguard breaks is restricted to those 18 years and older.
  3. No glass or food is permitted in the fenced in area of the pool deck.
  4. All alcoholic beverages in the fenced in area of the pool and pool deck should be in a non-descript container.
  5. No personal speaker or sound devices are permitted on the pool deck.
  6. Persons having any skin disease, bad colds, and cuts requiring stitches, open sores, athlete’s foot, infections, or contagious diseases are not permitted in the pools.
  7. All bandages (including band aids) must be removed before entering the pool.
  8. Playing tag, wrestling, pushing, running, throwing people in the water, towel snapping, and all other objectionable and/or aggressive conduct and language is prohibited.
  9. Small inflatable “beach balls” and “splash balls” will be allowed in the pool(s). No tennis balls or baseballs are allowed. Basketballs are only for water basketball under the supervision of the lifeguard. No balls will be allowed on crowded days, as determined by the Manager and/or lifeguards on duty.
  10. Use of inflatables and rafts must be approved by the Manager and/or lifeguards on duty.
  11. Diving is only allowed in the deep end of the big pool.
  12. Only use ladders to climb out of the deep area of the pool.
  13. There is no swimming under the diving boards.
  14. The baby pool is for the use of children under 5 years of age or younger. A parent or guardian must always be with a child in the enclosed baby pool area. Be aware, there is no lifeguard supervision of the baby pool.
  15. When thunder or lightning is detected, the pool deck area must be cleared. Pool patrons may not re-enter the pool deck area for a minimum of 20 minutes or until the area is deemed safe by the Manager on duty.

TENNIS & PICKLEBALL COURT RULES

  1. Proper tennis shoes must be worn at all times. No shoes with ridges, cleats, heels or hard soles permitted. No crocs or sandals allowed. This rule pertains to all players and spectators.
  2. Proper tennis attire is required at all times.
  3. Adults 18 years of age and over have court preference after 5:00 PM on weekdays, and all day on weekends and holidays.
  4. Those persons requiring a guest pass to enter the Club may be asked to show their pass in order to enjoy use of the courts. Same rules apply to preseason and postseason play.
  5. Club Management, Tennis Pro and court maintenance personnel are the only ones authorized to open the courts for play.
  6. If the courts are closed due to weather conditions. In case of thunder or lightning, the tennis courts must be cleared. Persons may not return until the area is deemed safe by the Manager on duty.
  7. No Alcoholic beverages are permitted on the courts. All food and beverages shall be kept in the tennis shelter area. Water and sports drink are permitted on court but off the playing area.
  8. Please dispose of all waste materials (tennis ball cans/lids, etc.) in a proper trash receptacle.
  9. Please be respectful of other members and leave the court in good condition. Members are permitted to use the court brooms and line brushes. However, please return all equipment to to the proper storage location, when finished.
  10. Proper language and conduct are required, at all times. Please use common sense rules of decency and respect.
