2016 Wrap Up and Annual Meeting Notice
Dear Fairlawn Swim and Tennis Members,
It’s hard to believe that summer is over and we are already planning for next season. Overall, the weather cooperated and we had great participation in all of our programs. The conditions for tennis have been great during this sunny September. There are several items of news which the Board would like to pass on at this time.
We are sorry to report that our current Club Manager, John Conner, will not be returning next season. He has decided to spend more time with his young family during the summer months. We were blessed to have him operate our Club for the past six years and we wish him all the best. In the off season, we will be conducting a search for a new Club Manager. We have several interesting leads, and would like to broaden our reach so we can hire the best possible candidate for the job. If you know of anyone who would be interested in the position, please contact one of the Board Members. We plan on making a decision this fall as summer always comes quickly.
Additionally, there will be four Board positions open for the next season. Please consider holding a position on our Board. Responsibilities include attending one meeting per month with additional work during the summer. Many assignments can often be done on your own schedule. With the technology of e-mail and text messages, many issues can be dealt with immediately and seamlessly. Being a part of the Board is a great way to meet other members and to help guide our Club in a healthy direction for the future. The term commitment is 3 years, and can be renewed once for a maximum of 6 years. Anyone interested, please contact me at email@example.com so that your name may be placed on the ballot at our upcoming annual meeting.
Lastly, please put the date of our ANNUAL MEETING on your calendars. It will be Wednesday, October 26 at 6:30 pm in the large meeting room at Northwest Ayers Library (1720 Shatto Ave, Akron 44313). We will offer an overview of finances and membership, as well as hold Board elections. Hope to see you all there.
John Novak, President FS&T
